FROM DECATUR TO THE FRONT OFFICE; Two Women Leading Atlanta Truth!

Amber “Tiger” Jones-Marks and Kimberly “KP” Parks are bringing Decatur roots, executive leadership and an ambitious vision to the future of women’s football in Atlanta.

Atlanta has always been a city where culture, sports, business and ambition collide. It is a city that understands what it means to create something from the ground up, turn local movements into national conversations and give people a platform to dream bigger. Now, two women born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, are bringing that same energy into the front office of Atlanta Truth Women’s Football. General Manager Amber “Tiger” Jones-Marks and Assistant General Manager Kimberly “KP” Parks are stepping into leadership with a shared goal: help take Atlanta Truth to the next level while creating greater visibility, opportunity and respect for women in football.

For Tiger and KP, this story starts long before executive titles and football operations. It starts in Decatur. Their connection to Atlanta is not something created for a marketing campaign. This is home. They understand the neighborhoods, the people, the culture and the unmistakable energy of a city that has produced influential names in sports, music, entertainment and business. Today, they have an opportunity to pour that experience back into their city by helping build something they believe Atlanta needs to see: women competing, leading and winning in football.

Atlanta Truth competes in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC), a national women’s tackle football league focused on advancing opportunities for women and girls through the sport. The team’s official site describes Atlanta women’s football as representing the next generation of women’s professional football in Georgia, built around strength, unity and excellence on and off the field. As women’s sports continue to gain momentum, Atlanta Truth has an opportunity to become more than a football team. Tiger and KP envision an organization capable of becoming an important piece of Atlanta sports culture.

Taking a team to the next level requires more than winning games. Winning will always matter, but sustainable sports organizations are built around culture, visibility, partnerships, community, fan engagement and opportunities for their athletes. Tiger and KP understand that what happens away from the field can be just as important to the future of Atlanta Truth as what happens between the sidelines.

TWO WOMEN. TWO LEADERSHIP STYLES. ONE VISION.

Amber “Tiger” Jones-Marks — General Manager, Atlanta Truth Women’s Football

As General Manager, Tiger brings leadership, accountability and a commitment to building a championship culture. Her position requires seeing the entire organization—not simply individual moments or games—and helping create an environment where athletes, coaches and staff can move toward a common goal. For Atlanta Truth to grow, the organization must create a culture women are proud to represent.

Tiger’s leadership sends an important message: women belong in the rooms where decisions about sports are being made. Women belong on the field, on the sidelines, in operations, in ownership and in the front office. Her leadership is about strong standards, a bigger vision and building a culture designed for greatness.

Kimberly “KP” Parks — Assistant General Manager, Atlanta Truth Women’s Football

Alongside Tiger, KP brings a complementary perspective to the organization. As Assistant General Manager, Parks sees enormous potential at the intersection of sports, marketing, public relations, entertainment, business development and community engagement. For KP, one of the biggest opportunities is helping Atlanta get to know the women underneath the helmets.

Every player has a story. There is a woman behind the jersey number. There are careers, families, sacrifices, dreams and personal journeys that often remain invisible to casual fans. KP believes storytelling can help change that. When fans know the athletes, they have a reason to care. When businesses understand the audience, they have a reason to invest. When media outlets recognize compelling stories, they have a reason to cover them. And when young girls see women who look like them playing and leading, they have another reason to dream.

WOMEN’S SPORTS ARE BECOMING BIG BUSINESS

Tiger and KP are stepping into leadership at an extraordinary time for women’s sports. The conversation is changing rapidly. Women’s sports are increasingly being recognized as valuable entertainment properties with loyal audiences and significant commercial potential. That growth represents opportunity for Atlanta Truth: sponsorships, corporate partnerships, media relationships, ticket sales, merchandise, community activations and player branding can all become part of a stronger business ecosystem.

Corporate Atlanta is filled with companies looking for authentic ways to connect with women, families, athletes and local communities. Atlanta also possesses an enormous entertainment ecosystem that includes professional athletes, entertainers, influencers, entrepreneurs, media personalities and cultural leaders. The opportunity is to connect those worlds and make an Atlanta Truth game feel like a true Atlanta experience.

MAKING ATLANTA TRUTH AN ATLANTA EXPERIENCE

The official Atlanta Truth platform emphasizes empowering female athletes, inspiring fans and driving the growth of women’s sports in Georgia. The next stage is making sure Atlanta knows the Truth. People cannot support what they do not know exists. Fans need player profiles, interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, community appearances and stories that allow them to build relationships with the women representing Atlanta.

Corporate partners need opportunities that extend beyond placing a logo on a banner. Community organizations need to understand how Atlanta Truth can work alongside them. Young athletes need access to players and coaches. Media organizations need stories worth telling. And Atlanta needs experiences worth attending.

“Atlanta supports Atlanta, but people have to know the story,” Parks says. “They have to know these women. They have to see them. Our responsibility is to make sure the city understands that Atlanta Truth is here, these athletes deserve to be seen, and we’re building something Atlanta can be proud of.”

FROM DECATUR TO EXECUTIVE SPORTS LEADERSHIP

There is another reason the Tiger and KP story matters. Two women from Decatur are helping lead a women’s football organization in Atlanta. For a young girl growing up in Decatur today, that image can be powerful. Representation is not simply seeing someone who looks like you succeed. Sometimes representation means discovering that a career exists because you saw someone else doing it.

A girl may love football but never become a professional athlete. She could become a general manager, assistant general manager, coach, sports attorney, partnership executive, broadcaster, marketing director, football operations leader, team owner or league commissioner. There is an entire business surrounding sports, and women deserve access to every part of it.

“I want a little girl from Decatur to be able to look at us and understand that there is a seat for her in sports leadership,” Parks says. “She doesn’t have to wait for somebody to tell her she belongs in the room. Tiger and I come from the same community, and now we have an opportunity to help build something powerful in our own city. That’s bigger than a title.”

BUILDING SOMETHING BIGGER THAN A SEASON

A football season eventually ends. Legacy does not. The scoreboard will always matter, but Tiger and KP are also thinking about what remains after the final whistle: attendance, sponsorship, community impact, media coverage, athlete development, fan engagement, youth participation and brand recognition.

The athletes remain at the heart of everything. Their performance gives the organization its heartbeat. Their sacrifices create the stories. Their competitiveness gives fans a reason to show up. Executive leadership has a responsibility to build an environment worthy of that commitment.

COMMUNITY BEFORE EVERYTHING

For Tiger and KP, community cannot become something the organization talks about only when there is an event to promote. Atlanta Truth can introduce girls to football through camps and clinics. Players can participate in school visits and mentoring programs. Partnerships can connect athletes with businesses and career opportunities. The goal is to make Atlanta Truth visible even when there is no game being played.

That is how organizations become institutions. You show up. You build relationships. You listen. You serve. And eventually, the community shows up for you. For two women who grew up in Decatur, that responsibility carries additional meaning. They are not simply representing an organization. They are representing home.

THE BUSINESS OF BUILDING THE TRUTH

The next level also requires a business strategy. Women’s sports cannot grow on passion alone. Teams need revenue. Athletes need resources. Organizations need sponsors. Fans need compelling experiences. Partners need measurable value. Media needs access. And communities need consistency.

Potential partnerships extend across healthcare, financial services, automotive, technology, hospitality, beauty, fashion, fitness, restaurants, entertainment, education and community development. Atlanta businesses have an opportunity to do more than sponsor women’s sports after everyone else decides it is valuable. They can become early partners in building its future.

TWO WOMEN. ONE TRUTH.

There is an image that captures this chapter perfectly: Tiger and KP standing back-to-back, football in hand, Atlanta behind them. Two women from Decatur occupying positions that another generation of girls may have never imagined were possible. One serves as General Manager. The other serves as Assistant General Manager. But their titles are only the beginning of the story.

Atlanta Truth has an opportunity to become a platform for female athletes, a pathway for girls, a gathering place for Atlanta families, a marketing opportunity for businesses and a vehicle for community impact. Tiger and KP understand the responsibility that comes with helping build that future.

The ultimate goal is not simply for two women from Decatur to make big moves in Atlanta. The goal is to make those moves big enough that thousands of women and girls can move forward behind them.

TWO WOMEN.
ONE CITY.
ONE TEAM.
ONE TRUTH.
