Conga Batalex is an international published photographer, traveler, novelist, filmmaker, storyteller, model, retoucher (100% manual retouch), dreamer. Worked with more than 100 international magazines, including GQ, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour (Glamour of Hollywood), L’Officiel, FHM, MAXIM, Playboy etc.
Our names are Alex and Galina. And more precisely ALEX and GAlina, so we are two parts of ConGA BatALEX. We are a couple of photographers, models, travelers, writers and dreamers. And now we are traveling all around the world and looking for creative models and new friends.
We are working on a series of illustrated booklets devoted to female archetypal identity in different local cultures and subcultures, to the cult of the Great (Moon) Goddess, Her incarnations in the modern world, traditions, ceremonies and rituals associated with this cult. So, our photos are intended for illustrations of these booklets.
All our publications are the parts of a large visual-literary project. They represent any illustrations for different chapters of the novel “The Great Moon Goddess” we write. She’s still alive in different parts of the world, in different local cultures and subcultures, myths and legends. On the one hand, they are very different from each other, but on the other, they have a unifying core. And this core is the cult for the Great Moon Goddess. She has an incredible number of names. The Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia called Her Ishtar, the Romans – Venus, the Greeks – Athena, the Egyptians – Isis, the Phrygians – Cybele, the Celts – Don, the Hindus – Kali, the Arians – Shakti, the Aztecs – Tlasolteotl, the Thracians – Hecate, the Irish – Morrigan, the Japanese – Inari, the Scandinavians – Hel. Her Name is also known to other nations

Sometimes a modern woman has to solve impossible and contradictory tasks. Other times she has to put on armor. But she still remains tender and delicate inside. So, a modern women have to be both a dragon and a princess at the same time.
We have been preparing for several months to realize this truly simple idea. Our team has been engaged in location, image and looks selection, search for jewelry, as well as accessories.
However, aesthetics and style are not only in location, jewelry and accessories but also in the emotions, because style is not just a material. It’s a whole story, a whole world, where every element seems to be created on its own, exquisitely and inexplicably, in harmony with other elements. To feel the energy of real things, famous brands work on their projects for several months, and sometimes even years, creating their own unique collections.
This photoshoot is also based on a true Thai legend. we have tried to give it a new interpretation.
We sincerely hope that you will also be able to feel a slight excitement from the emotional wave of joy that dreams and creative plans are becoming reality.
We love to travel! We love to watch sunrises and sunsets, meet new people, and create something together. We love discovering new secrets and solving new mysteries. Every new country is a completely different story for us.
We love Thailand! We love its rich history and so attractive cultures, delicate tastes and beautiful sounds, traditional music and incredible dances, spectacular sights and fantastic views, bright colors and unbelievable architecture, hot weather and so hospitable people. We love to meet sunrises in Bangkok and sunsets in Phuket. We love the noise of Thai floating markets and the silence of Thai small islands. We love trying new flavors of Thai exotic fruits and enjoying the mystique of Thai temples. So, this photoset is inspired by Thailand and devoted to Thailand.
Rudyard Kipling said: “Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet”. We hope one day it will be.
