A Night to Remember in Marietta, Georgia

Some evenings are simply too special to forget, and October 3, 2026, was certainly one of those nights. As I reflect on the 2nd Annual Iconique Magazine Image Awards, held at the beautiful Orchid Event Venue in Marietta, Georgia, I cannot help but appreciate the incredible talent, creativity, elegance, and dedication that filled the room. It was more than an awards ceremony. It was a celebration of dreams, hard work, accomplishments, and the people who continue to make meaningful contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries.

For me, the evening represented something much greater than beautiful outfits, flashing cameras, and glamorous appearances. It was about recognizing individuals who have poured their hearts into their craft, sometimes without receiving the recognition they deserve. It was about creating an environment where emerging talent could stand alongside established professionals and feel that their work mattered.

Iconique Magazine has continued to build a platform that recognizes creativity, individuality, and the importance of telling our stories. Under the leadership of founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief Von Donald, the publication has established a presence in fashion, music, entertainment, and lifestyle journalism. Watching the Image Awards bring so many creative individuals together reinforced my appreciation for the magazine’s commitment to celebrating talent.

From the moment guests arrived, there was an undeniable excitement in the atmosphere. Beautifully dressed attendees entered the venue prepared for an evening of celebration. Models, designers, photographers, entrepreneurs, entertainers, and supporters gathered with one common purpose: to honor excellence.

And what an evening it turned out to be!

Celebrating the Winners Who Make Fashion Extraordinary

One of my favorite parts of the evening was witnessing the recognition of the remarkable individuals who received awards. Every winner represented a different journey, a different set of sacrifices, and a unique story of determination.

I have always believed that success should never be measured solely by popularity or visibility. True success comes from dedication, consistency, growth, and the courage to pursue something meaningful even when the journey becomes difficult.

That is why I want to personally congratulate every winner of the 2026 Iconique Magazine Image Awards.

Behind every award is a story that the audience may never fully know. There are long nights of preparation, moments of uncertainty, financial investments, missed opportunities, personal challenges, and countless hours dedicated to perfecting a craft. Whether someone works in modeling, fashion design, photography, entertainment, or business, the journey requires patience and perseverance.

I also want to acknowledge every nominee and participant. Not everyone walks away holding a trophy, but that does not diminish the value of their work. Sometimes, being recognized among talented individuals is itself a reminder that your dedication is being noticed.

To all of the winners, I encourage you to celebrate this chapter while preparing for the next. An award should never represent the end of your journey. It should inspire you to continue creating, improving, and opening doors for others.

Mia Williams: A Remarkable Night of Recognition

One of the most memorable highlights of the awards ceremony was the outstanding success of Atlanta fashion model Mia Williams.

What made her evening particularly remarkable was not simply winning one award, but receiving three prestigious honors.

Mia Williams was recognized as Model of the Year in the Image Awards voting category, Cover Model of the Year, and Iconique Magazine Choice Award Model of the Year. Her Cover Model of the Year recognition also came with a trophy and a $1,000 cash prize.

I believe her accomplishments deserve tremendous applause.

Modeling is often misunderstood by people who only see the finished photograph or the final runway presentation. What many do not recognize is the preparation, professionalism, discipline, and personal confidence required to build a successful modeling career.

A talented model must understand presentation, movement, emotional expression, creative direction, and the ability to bring a designer’s vision to life. Modeling is an art form, and those who excel in the profession deserve recognition for their contributions.

Seeing Mia receive these honors reminded me that dedication and preparation can create extraordinary opportunities. Her accomplishments serve as encouragement for aspiring models who may still be searching for their breakthrough moment.

Congratulations, Mia Williams. Your remarkable evening was a powerful example of what can happen when talent, determination, and opportunity come together.

Fashion Designers: The Visionaries Behind the Beauty

As much as I appreciate seeing talented models command attention on the runway, I have an equally deep appreciation for the designers who make those moments possible.

Fashion designers are storytellers. Their creative visions are expressed through fabrics, textures, colors, silhouettes, and details that can transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art.

Throughout the Image Awards celebration, I was reminded of just how much creativity exists within the independent fashion community.

One of the evening’s most exciting honors was the Iconique Magazine Designer Supreme Award, a competitive recognition symbolized by a championship-style belt.

Designer Van Miller of Van Miller International emerged victorious, earning the coveted Designer Supreme title. The competition also included talented designers representing Shaland Designs, Phatz Designs, and Wisper Couture.

I want to congratulate Van Miller for this accomplishment and acknowledge every designer who participated.

I also extend congratulations to Phatz Designs for winning Designer of the Year in the voting category and Shaland Designs for receiving the Iconique Magazine Choice Award for Designer of the Year.

Every designer brought something different to the creative atmosphere. What I appreciate most about independent designers is their willingness to experiment, take risks, and present original ideas.

Fashion has never been just about clothing to me. It is about identity, artistic expression, culture, and the ability to communicate without speaking.

These designers reminded everyone that creativity cannot be confined to one look, one trend, or one definition of beauty.

A Special Thank You to Kwana Starks-King

No successful awards celebration can happen without a beautiful setting and individuals willing to help bring the vision to life.

I want to extend a special thank-you to Kwana Starks-King, owner of Orchid Event Venue in Marietta, Georgia.

The venue provided an elegant atmosphere that complemented the sophistication and excitement of the Iconique Magazine Image Awards.

The environment surrounding an event plays an important role in how guests experience the occasion. From the presentation of the space to the overall ambiance, every detail contributes to the lasting impression an event leaves behind.

Orchid Event Venue served as a beautiful backdrop for a celebration dedicated to fashion, entertainment, creativity, and community recognition.

I also appreciate Kwana’s participation in the evening, including her role in presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to our honored guest.

Her contributions helped make the celebration memorable, and I believe individuals who invest in creating spaces for others to celebrate deserve recognition of their own.

Honoring Headkrack: A Lifetime of Entertainment Excellence

Without question, one of the most significant moments of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to television and radio personality Headkrack.

I have tremendous respect for entertainers who remain relevant while continuing to evolve creatively, and Headkrack represents that type of longevity.

His professional career spans nearly three decades in radio, television, music, and entertainment. During that time, he has built a reputation as a knowledgeable, charismatic, and recognizable voice within hip-hop culture and entertainment media.

Many audiences became familiar with Headkrack through his work on the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show and the television entertainment program Dish Nation.

His ability to combine humor, entertainment news, music knowledge, and engaging commentary helped establish his place within an industry that constantly changes.

His work has also included Side Dish on FOX Soul, Hip Hop Spot, and Trim & True, along with appearances on national television programs and networks.

But what I find especially inspiring about Headkrack is that his talent has never been limited to one platform.

In addition to broadcasting, he has worked as a recording artist, performer, voice actor, producer, and entrepreneur. His willingness to explore different areas of entertainment demonstrates the importance of continuously expanding one’s creative abilities.

I believe that longevity in entertainment requires more than talent. It requires adaptability, discipline, determination, and an authentic connection with audiences.

Headkrack has managed to build a career that reflects those qualities.

Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Iconique Magazine was a fitting tribute to the years he has dedicated to entertaining, informing, and connecting with people.

As I reflect on his accomplishments, one message stands out to me: success is not always about being the loudest person in the room. Sometimes, it is about remaining committed to your purpose long enough for your work to speak for itself.

Congratulations, Headkrack. Your contributions to entertainment and hip-hop culture deserve to be celebrated, and I hope your journey continues to inspire generations of broadcasters, performers, and creative professionals.

The People Behind the Experience

While the award recipients naturally received much of the attention, I also want to recognize the individuals who helped make the event possible.

The celebration was hosted by Poet Lightning of St. Louis, Missouri, whose presence helped guide the evening. Fashion designer Khaos Atlanta hosted the Designer Supreme portion of the program, bringing his own experience and personality to the competition.

I also recognize the importance of the photographers and videographers who captured the event.

Congratulations to Ed Geer of St. Louis, Missouri, who received the Photographer of the Year Award. Photography is an essential part of preserving our experiences, and skilled photographers have an extraordinary ability to document moments that might otherwise be forgotten.

I also want to acknowledge videographer Tracy Bumpers for his contributions to documenting the celebration.

Special appreciation goes to Tina B of TLB Productions for event photography and Phoenix Ascar for capturing the red carpet experience.

These creative professionals played an important role in preserving the atmosphere, personalities, fashion, and accomplishments that made the evening special.

I also want to recognize Deb and Freddie Lee James of Freddie Lee’s Gourmet Sauces for their THINK BIG Award presentation, which highlighted five remarkable business owners.

To me, recognizing entrepreneurs alongside fashion and entertainment professionals reinforces the importance of supporting individuals who are building businesses, creating opportunities, and making meaningful contributions to their communities.

I also cannot overlook the food and hospitality that accompanied the celebration. A memorable event is often defined by the complete guest experience, and the delicious food added another enjoyable element to an already beautiful evening.

Why the Iconique Magazine Image Awards Matter

When I think about the larger meaning of the Image Awards, I see a celebration that extends beyond the individuals who received recognition.

I see a platform that encourages people to believe in their creative potential.

There are countless talented individuals who work tirelessly without receiving national attention or major industry opportunities. Some are building careers independently. Others are balancing full-time jobs, families, and personal responsibilities while pursuing their dreams.

Many may never have the opportunity to walk across a nationally televised awards stage, but that does not mean their accomplishments are any less meaningful.

That is why platforms such as Iconique Magazine are important.

They create opportunities for talented people to be seen, heard, recognized, and celebrated.

Through editorial features, fashion photography, interviews, magazine covers, and special events, Iconique Magazine continues to provide opportunities for creative professionals to introduce themselves to new audiences.

I believe representation matters, and recognition can make an extraordinary difference in someone’s journey.

Sometimes, all a person needs is one opportunity to realize that their dreams are worth pursuing.

The Image Awards provide that opportunity while encouraging individuals to continue developing their talents.

As I look ahead to the 2027 Iconique Magazine Image Awards, I cannot help but think about the incredible possibilities waiting for aspiring models, designers, photographers, writers, artists, and other creative professionals.

Perhaps you attended the 2026 awards and imagined yourself receiving recognition one day. Maybe you saw photographs of the winners and wondered what it would take to become part of the celebration.

I want to encourage you to turn those thoughts into action.

One of the important features of the Iconique Magazine Image Awards is the publication’s nomination process. Rather than relying on open nominations, the magazine considers qualifying individuals who have been published during the previous calendar year.

For the 2027 awards, this means qualifying publication during January through December 2026 places individuals in consideration under the magazine’s nomination guidelines.

As the publication emphasizes, “Getting published is your nomination.”

I appreciate this approach because it encourages creative professionals to participate, build their portfolios, and establish a connection with the publication.

If you are interested in having your work featured, I encourage you to explore the magazine’s submission opportunities.

Do not allow fear, uncertainty, or the opinions of others to prevent you from pursuing your goals.

As I reflect on the 2026 Iconique Magazine Image Awards, I am reminded that some of life’s most meaningful celebrations are not simply about what happens on stage.

I congratulate every winner, nominee, designer, model, photographer, entertainer, entrepreneur, and creative professional who helped make this year’s event such a special occasion.

The 2026 Iconique Magazine Image Awards reminded me that excellence can be found in many forms.
