Pickles Deli Downtown-St Louis; Grilled Cheese Review

Since Iconique Magazine is on this grilled cheese kick. I decided that this would be a good location to do a grilled cheese review for all those “cheddar wizzards” out there. This Grilled Cheese is made with Marble Rye bread with a recommended blend or 2 slices of Cheddar Cheese, 2 Slices of Provolone and 1 Slice of Pepper Jack Cheese and a pickle slice from the cook.

The cook said that it also comes with a side item. So I got the Tomato Basil Couscous with an Orange Crush drink with no ice.

Just look at all the cheese oozing out of control. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this amazing looking creation. Take a look at the video, The cheese pull is amazing. I think I have stretched the cheese all the way to the moon and back. The cheese is very delicious. This was a recommended cheese combination and I agree wholeheartedly after taking my first bite that the cheeses definitely work well together. I really like the buttered flavor Marble Rye Bread. It was cooked just right.

I’m just a sucker for basil. I think basil should have a food group all by itself.  I haven’t had couscous in a very long time and all the flavors were hitting in all cylinders. It has a vinegar type base to it and the basil just set this side dish apart from the rest.

The side is served chilled. It looks like it’s made with tomatoes and minced onions. I really enjoyed it.

I will rate this meal a cool 10 out of 10. Even though it was served to me in a basket, it still was presented in a way that was pleasing to the eye. Plus it just a Deli downtown St Louis and not a 5 Star restaurant where I’d expect the presentation to be superb.

I like the fact that everything is made fresh daily…….Not bad for $12.92
