ICONIQUE MAGAZINE Brickhouse Grill & Pub Located in Springfield Illinois food review of their Adult Grilled Cheese and Roasted Red Pepper and Gouda Soup aka “The Devils Soup” – Review

This food review took me to Springfield Illinois where I discovered this unique restaurant off South Veterans Way on W. Iles Ave. on a cozy corner in a strip mall just waiting for me to come in and try their famous “Adult Grilled Cheese” sandwich.

The Brickhouse Grill and Pub was opened in February of 2009 and has become one of the leading west side grill and pubs. The Brickhouse is the place to come enjoy your favorite sporting event on one of our 22 High Definition TV’s, to gather with friends, or come enjoy a wonderful meal with a great atmosphere. Our chefs serve up an eclectic variety of daily soup and entrée specials while continuously staying a step ahead of other restaurants in the area by updating our menu annually.

The Adult Grilled Cheese is a Buttery Texas Toast layered with Swiss, provolone, white cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato and pesto mayo sandwich. It also comes with a side of fries or chips.

I chose the grilled cheese without bacon and a side of fries

My server name is Kourtni

Roasted red pepper Gouda soup aka the devils soup According to the best server ever Kourti

Omg! This combination is well worth the drive. The grilled cheese is awesome and amazing. The tender buttery toast was so smooth that I couldn’t stop eating it.  The Swiss, white cheddar cheese and Mayo works very well together. You would think that it would have a bitter taste but it did not. The tomato gave it a feeling like I was eating meat inside, but it wasn’t meat at all. It was like a hidden flavor surprise just waiting for me to bite into it. Then boom. I’m hooked.

The soup needs to be in a category all by itself. Roasted peppers and Gouda all in the same bite is so unique and unreal. I’ve had so many soups in my lifetime and I just go crazy when I hear Gouda.  lol

It has a sweet and smoky flavor with a touch of tart from the tomato’s. The spices have this southern feel to it. The hint of lavender is always a winner for me.

The seasoned fries were good as well.

I Suggest you come to Brickhouse Grill & Pub in Springfield and try this delicious Adult grilled Cheese. I’m coming back to try the “Nashville Hot Chicken”
