ICONIQUE MAGAZINE FOOD REVIEW: Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina.

If you haven’t been here, Its a must that you do so. It is located on the hotel’s top floor of the JW Marriott Nashville TN. The Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is a culinary destination promising stunning skyline views and deeply satisfying dishes. Next to it is the Bourbon Sky Rooftop Bar. Bourbon Sky Rooftop Bar sits atop JW Marriott Nashville and is an extension of chef Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak restaurant. The circular rooftop venue provides indoor and outdoor seating for 40 with stunning city views that make the bar a destination on everyone’s Nashville list.

I decided that on my next trip to Nashville, I will visit this hotel. It was definitely an experience everyone with great taste should visit at least once or twice.

On that day I ordered the Miso-Glazed Chilean Sea Bass. It consisted of Watermelon Radish, Micro Salad, Snap Peas, Sea Bass, Lemon Juice, Salt and Mushrooms.

I made my waitress aware that I do not eat mushrooms and she said that she would see what substitutes the Chef can offer me in this case because the mushrooms are made into the sauce. So the Chef came out to my table and I told him what my concerns are with mushrooms and he said that he would make a special sauce for me that would be an even better compliment to the Sea Bass and would not take away from the unique flavors.

So he created for me a Citronette Sauce from scratch. Made with Hondashi, Lime Juice, Light Soy and Fine Herbs. He also said that the Sea Bass is cut daily to every other day and is marinated the night before and is ready to serve the next day.

First they started me off with what they call their “Signature Bread Service” which consist of three different “Duck Fried” styled cut french fries with three different sauce for each one. I also ordered a glass of sweet tea and water.

When my meal came, I was so impressed with the plating of this artwork. It looked so pretty that I didn’t even want to eat it. I just wanted to adorn it as long as I can.

My first bite was amazing. The Sea Bass was very tender, sweet and delicious. The crunch of the snap peas pared with the Micro-Salad and that one of a kind sauce that was crafted just for me was amazing. It was like listening to a Symphony orchestra where all the instruments was playing in unison making for a well made song in my mouth.

After my meal I was given a complimentary bag of Gourmet Popcorn. Again, It is a must that you partake in this exquisite gourmet cuisine at JW Marriott Downtown Nashville Tn.
