ICONIQUE MAGAZINE FOOD REVIEW: Dewey’s Pizza “The Dr. Dre Pizza. Its time to go in to see what all the fuss is about.
Dewey’s Pizza is an upscale casual, gourmet pizza concept with 26 locations throughout the Midwest. Dewey’s has been in business for over two decades. They are known for their creative pizza and salad combinations. They also offer local craft beer. Dewey’s presently have locations in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Akron, Kansas City and St. Louis Metro area (O’fallon Illinois). The first Dewey’s Pizza opened in 1998 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The popular chain has locations throughout the Midwest. Dewey’s fans love the open kitchen where they can watch their hand-tossed pizza being made with gourmet ingredients.

Today I ordered the Dr. Dre Pizza. I know what you are thinking, “Is this Pizza named after the Iconic Music Producer Dr. Dre?” Actually it isn’t. My waitress Megan said that a former cook used to create his own pizza for lunch and it was so good that other employees started making it as well. She also stated that it was so popular that they added it to the menu and at this location, it is ordered outside of the “Bronx Bomber and the Don Corleone” Pizza 95% of the time by our customers.
I also ordered a glass of sweet tea to go with my Dr. Dre Pizza.

The Dr. Dre comes in a 11”, 13” or 17” Crust with olive oil, Mozzarella, Green Bell Peppers, Red Onions, All-Natural Chicken, Bacon (Not on mine though), House picked Jalapeños, with Tomatoes and Ranch after the bake.
I am not a big fan of ranch dressing especially on a pizza, however, it gave this pizza an added flavor that put this pizza on a gourmet level of pizzas. The tomatoes are fresh and the crunch of the onions and bell peppers made this pizza pop. I didn’t think I would like jalapeños on my pizza, but this combination really worked.
I added some cracked red pepper to my pizza and the pizza took off like a rocket. I really couldn’t taste the mozzarella over the ranch dressing on this pizza so I added some from the table, it really brought out all those hidden flavors inside this pizza.
I would definitely eat this pizza again. I really love hand-crafted pizzas over production/commercial pizzas.
