Nachelle Mac: Modeling with Purpose, Living by Faith

My name is Nachelle Mac, and I’m a Christian curvy model from Decatur, Georgia. I’ve lived in five states and two countries. My journey into the world of fashion and entertainment didn’t begin with dreams of lights or attention—it started with a purpose. From my very first runway walk at a church fashion show as a little girl, I sensed that what I carried was more than just presence—it was a calling. Even then, I understood that beauty wasn’t about being seen, but about what you represent when you’re seen.

Growing up, I was drawn to creativity and expression, but I also became aware of the pressures and expectations the industry could impose. As a teenager, I was approached by self-proclaimed scouts and recruiters, but something never sat right. I declined their offers, unwilling to risk my safety or image just for a shot at being “discovered.” Even then, I knew I couldn’t chase something that didn’t align with my values. I prioritized my faith, even when the path looked uncertain.

In my early twenties, after being filled with the Holy Ghost, I finally felt released to explore modeling more seriously. I enrolled in training and began learning the craft. When a casting call invitation came that could have launched my career, I faced a difficult decision. I was selected, but I turned it down. Something in my spirit told me it wasn’t the right time or the right environment. I chose obedience over opportunity—a decision I’ve never regretted.

Many assume this path has been smooth. In reality, it’s been a journey shaped by hard work, conviction, and the unwavering grace of God. I’ve had to say no when it wasn’t easy. I’ve had to trust God when everything in me wanted to move ahead. I’ve watched doors open and close, sometimes without explanation. But through it all, I’ve kept one thing at the center: my relationship with Christ.

That clarity is what led me to the Christian Models Association (CMA) and Coach Stikks. CMA was a divine connection—a safe space for women like me who wanted to model with integrity, faith, and excellence. Through their training, bi-weekly Zoom sessions, and Bible study groups, I found a tribe of like-minded women. Women who love fashion, but more importantly, love God. In this community, I was reminded that I didn’t have to compromise to walk in purpose.

Since joining CMA, my modeling career has taken off. I’ve walked in New York Fashion WeekAtlanta Fashion Week, and booked multiple runway shows, a couple acting roles and photoshoots. Each experience has stretched and grown me, not just as a model, but as a woman of God in a competitive industry. I’ve worked with incredibly talented and inspiring creatives, and I’m only just getting started.

What’s different about my journey is the lens through which I view success. I don’t chase roles just to build a resume. I don’t move unless I feel God is in it. Whether I’m on a runway, in front of a camera, or sitting quietly in a waiting room, I bring my faith with me. I’ve learned to move with intention and to trust God’s timing—even when it doesn’t align with the world’s expectations.

This industry often demands conformity. But I refuse to shrink who I am to make others more comfortable. I know who I am and who I belong to. That confidence gives me peace in spaces full of pressure, competition, and noise. I’ve seen the toll that striving for validation can take on people. I’ve seen beautiful souls buckle under the weight of trying to be everything for everyone. That’s why I lead with purpose. I’m not here to impress—I’m here to impact.

To me, beauty isn’t just about how you look. It’s about what you carry. It’s in how you treat others, how you show up when no one’s watching, how you stay grounded when the world offers you platforms for the wrong reasons. I’m committed to showing up fully—faith and all—and letting that be enough.

I never really saw women who looked like me growing up, especially in spaces of influence and fashion. Most of what I saw was filtered, curated, and often disconnected from real life. So when opportunities started opening for me, I made a promise to myself: I would show up authentically, every time. That meant turning down certain gigs, walking away from potential exposure, and trusting that God’s plan is better than anything I could chase.

One quote that has stayed with me is: “A great leader had to at one time, be the follower of another great leader.” That’s what I aim to be. A great leader. A reminder that you can be confident, curvy, creative and still walk in holiness. You can love the spotlight without letting it define you. You can be visible without being vulnerable to compromise.

Some of my most significant breakthroughs came in the quiet seasons—the times when I wasn’t promoting or performing. I was simply being. Waiting. Praying. Trusting. And somehow, the right doors opened anyway. Because God works in the stillness just as much as in the spotlight.

This isn’t about building a brand or chasing clout. It’s about legacy. It’s about leaving something meaningful behind. I want young women to know that their worth isn’t in their waist size or their follower count. It’s in their faith. It’s in the fruit of their life—the impact they have on others by showing up in truth and love.

Whether modeling, acting, or serving behind the scenes, I’m committed to walking this journey with grace and integrity. Not every “yes” has been easy, and not every “no” has been painless. But every step has been worth it. I don’t have all the answers, but I know the One who does. And as long as He leads, I’ll follow.

At the end of the day, I’m not here for the spotlight.
I’m here for the Light.

To God be all the glory—always.

With Purpose,

Nachelle Mac 🦋
