LinQ Breakfast and Brunch Bar, Morrow GA; Food Review by Kim Possible

LinQ Breakfast and Brunch Bar is a Black-owned and operated establishment bringing an upscale brunch experience to Morrow GA. From the moment I arrived the atmosphere felt elevated and stylish, though the temperature inside was noticeably cold. After a few customers mentioned it, the staff did adjust the temperature, which I appreciated.

A plate featuring two golden-brown fritters, scrambled eggs, and crispy breakfast potatoes, arranged stylishly on a white dish.

I ordered the Salmon Croquettes with scrambled eggs and homestyle potatoes. The salmon croquettes were made with onions and bell peppers, which added a subtle sweetness and savory depth to the flavor. Texturally they were crisp and well-browned on the outside with a soft interior. While the flavor was very good, the croquettes were slightly overcooked, making them a bit more firmer than ideal.

The dish was served with a sweet and sour sauce and a Cajun sauce, both of which were excellent. The sweet and sour sauce added a tangy brightness, while the Cajun sauce brought a mild heat and richness that elevated the salmon. Both sauces significantly enhanced the overall taste and made the croquettes more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the presentation of the dish did not match the upscale aesthetic of the restaurant. The homestyle potatoes arrived cold and tasted more like they were frozen rather than freshly prepared. The kitchen did bring out a second batch, which was hot, but the texture and flavor still suggested they were frozen and only lightly seasoned. The scrambled eggs were plain and unseasoned as well, which left the overall dish lacking depth.

I initially wanted to order a peach mimosa, but they were out of the flavored options. Instead, I ordered a tequila sunrise, and this is where LinQ truly shined. The presentation was beautiful-eye-catching and vibrant – and the drink itself was delicious, well-balaned and refreshing.

Overall, LinQ Breakfast and Brunch Bar has a strong foundation: great service, a beautiful space and solid drink offerings. With improvements in food seasoning, preparation, and presentation, this spot has the potential to truly stand out in the brunch scene while continuing to represent Black excellence in hospitality.

I rate LinQ Breakfast and Brunch Bar a 5/10.
