Iconique Magazine – Breaking the Tie with Usher and Tank, Extending His Reign as the Male R&B Artist with the Most #1’s in Billboard R&B Chart History.

Charlie Wilson extends his reign on the Billboard Adult R&B chart. The R&B icon’s single “Keep Me In Love” rises to No. 1 this week, earning him his 11th career leader on the tally. With this achievement, Wilsonbreaks the tie he recently shared with Usher and Tank, reclaiming his title as the male R&B artist with the most No. 1s in the chart’s history.
The accomplishment also adds to Wilson’s remarkable chart résumé. “Keep Me In Love” marks his 17th Top 10 on Adult R&B Airplay and his 30th overall appearance on a Billboard chart, underscoring a career that has spanned more than four decades while remaining consistently relevant.
Released on P Music Group/Parandise, “Keep Me In Love” follows Wilson’s 2024 No. 1 “Superman” and gives him back-to-back Adult R&B Airplay chart-toppers. The song’s uptempo groove and nostalgic bounce continue Wilson’s track record of blending timeless R&B with modern polish, a formula that has made him one of the format’s most reliable hitmakers.
“All these years later, I’m still here because I never stopped loving R&B. I stayed true to the music, and the music stayed true to me. Styles come and go, times change, but love and real songs will always last.” says Wilson. “That’s why I’m still here, making music that people can feel.”
Michael Paran, CEO of P Music Group, added: “For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with Charlie. This 11th No. 1 isn’t just another milestone. It’s a reflection of faith, hard work and a partnership that turned vision into history.”
With more than four decades in the game, Charlie Wilson has pulled off something rare, the ability to age gracefully in a genre that often crowns new kings too quickly. “Keep Me In Love” doesn’t just extend his chart reign, it reminds us why he’s remained one of music’s most trusted voices in love, groove, and longevity.
