FEARLESS FASHION IN ST. LOUIS: ……….A RECAP OF DENISE LI’S “I DON’T GIVE A FASHION”

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the heart of St. Louis, Missouri pulsed with unapologetic energy as celebrated fashion designer Denise Li hosted her groundbreaking showcase, “I Don’t Give a Fashion.” Held at 5800 N. Grand Blvd, the event was more than a runway—it was a manifesto. It was a declaration that fashion is not about approval or conformity, but about fearless self-expression, artistry, and community.

For those lucky enough to be in the room, it was clear from the very beginning that the show would not be business as usual. Guests were greeted with a warm welcome from Kira, whose charisma set the evening’s tone: inclusive, energetic, and brimming with anticipation. What followed was an immersive evening where clothing became storytelling, designers became cultural voices, and St. Louis firmly staked its claim as a rising hub for fashion innovation.

Denise Li: A Statement of Power

The show opened with the powerhouse herself, Denise Li, whose first collection commanded the runway with architectural precision and daring creativity. Li’s signature was evident: sharp tailoring balanced by fluid draping, bold color contrasts, and textures that invited both admiration and curiosity.

Her designs spoke to the modern wearer who refuses to be boxed in. Structured blazers paired with flowing skirts, metallic accents softened by plush fabrics, and details that drew gasps from the audience—all showcased Li’s ability to balance power and elegance. The applause that followed her segment was a declaration: the city was ready for unapologetic fashion.

Prynk Gallery: Wearable Art

If Denise Li established authority, Prynk Gallery brought artistry. Their segment felt like stepping inside a painting—each garment a brushstroke of imagination. Bold patterns clashed yet harmonized, fabrics shimmered with unexpected textures, and oversized silhouettes created a sense of theatrical drama.

Prynk Gallery’s strength lies in turning clothing into conversation pieces. A floor-length coat splashed with vibrant abstract motifs earned a collective murmur of approval from the audience, while a series of streetwear-inspired sets demonstrated the brand’s versatility. Prynk Gallery proved that fashion can be both high art and street-ready.

ROI + RIK: Sleek Modernity

The transition into ROI + RIK’s showcase was striking. Where Prynk Gallery dazzled with maximalism, ROI + RIK distilled elegance to its purest form. Clean lines, muted palettes, and tailoring that hugged and elongated the body defined their segment.

Monochrome ensembles in black, white, and beige created an aura of timelessness, while subtle embellishments—a metallic belt, a textured sleeve—spoke volumes without screaming. Their designs radiated a quiet confidence, appealing to the minimalist who understands that true sophistication is in restraint. The audience responded with admiration for the brand’s precision and polish.

Intermission: Kira & Friends Performance

At intermission, Kira & Friends reminded everyone that fashion does not live in isolation—it breathes through performance, sound, and movement. Their set fused music and dance, commanding the stage with raw energy. Models mingled with performers, blurring the lines between runway and stage. By the time the lights dimmed for the second act, the audience was reinvigorated, ready to dive back into the world of design.

Denise Li: Children’s & Athletic Line

The second half opened with another side of Denise Li’s genius: her Children’s and Athletic Line. Playful, energetic, and full of life, this collection was a refreshing departure from her opening statement of power.

Children strutted with confidence in brightly colored athleisure sets, while sporty adults showcased athletic-inspired pieces that merged functionality with edge. Neon accents, breathable fabrics, and dynamic cuts brought energy to the runway. Parents in the audience beamed with pride, while fashion lovers nodded in appreciation of Li’s versatility. Her ability to design for multiple demographics underscored her place as a multi-dimensional creative force.

Kaylin Kreations: Feminine Brilliance

Next came Kaylin Kreations, whose designs embodied elegance with a bold twist. Flowing gowns shimmered under the lights, each fabric catching and reflecting with every step. Sequins, satins, and sheer overlays lent the collection an almost ethereal quality, while sharp tailoring and daring cuts grounded it in modern sensibility.

Standout looks included a floor-grazing emerald gown with a dramatic thigh slit and a fitted jumpsuit with a plunging neckline framed in crystals. Kaylin Kreations radiated a glamorous confidence, appealing to women who command attention without ever asking for it. The crowd responded with audible “oohs” and enthusiastic applause, solidifying this collection as one of the evening’s highlights.

Tenille Appeal Fashions: Sensual Sophistication

Tenille Appeal Fashions followed with a collection that walked the line between sophistication and seduction. Their pieces hugged the body in all the right places, designed to accentuate form while still maintaining elegance.

Rich jewel tones dominated the palette—deep sapphires, ruby reds, and golden ambers—paired with luxurious fabrics like velvet, silk, and chiffon. A standout was a ruby-red evening gown with a plunging neckline and intricate beaded back detailing that shimmered like starlight. Tenille Appeal Fashions appealed to the confident woman unafraid of commanding every room she enters.

Skyy Boxx: Daring & Unapologetic

Closing the individual designer showcases, Skyy Boxx brought fire to the stage. Their designs were nothing short of daring—sharp cuts, edgy silhouettes, and unapologetic detailing that screamed individuality. Think leather harnesses paired with flowing skirts, bold metallic accents, and fearless combinations that challenged traditional norms.

The crowd reacted viscerally—cheering, snapping photos, and shouting in approval. Skyy Boxx embodied the very essence of the evening’s theme: fashion without apology, art without compromise.

Finale Walk: A Unified Statement

The show culminated in a Finale Walk, with all the designers’ models returning to the stage together. The sight was powerful—a living, breathing tapestry of creativity, diversity, and innovation. From children in athletic wear to models in high-drama gowns, the runway embodied the full spectrum of fashion’s possibilities.

As the audience rose in applause, it was clear this was not just a show. It was a cultural movement.

After-Show: Celebration & Community

When the runway lights dimmed, the evening was far from over. Guests were invited to “Get up to mingle and party,” and the venue transformed into a lively celebration. Designers, models, and guests mingled freely, breaking down the barrier between stage and spectator. Conversations about fabrics, performances, and standout moments filled the air as music carried the night forward.

Final Thoughts

“I Don’t Give a Fashion” lived up to its daring name. Spearheaded by Denise Li, the event showcased a lineup of designers who each brought something unique to the table—from Prynk Gallery’s artistry to ROI + RIK’s sleek modernity, from Kaylin Kreations’ feminine glamour to Tenille Appeal Fashions’ sensual sophistication, and finally, Skyy Boxx’s unapologetic boldness.

What united them all was not a single aesthetic, but a shared fearlessness—the willingness to create without limits and present fashion as an extension of self.

For Iconique Magazine of Indianapolis, IN, this showcase was a vivid reminder that the Midwest is not only participating in the global fashion conversation—it is setting its own trends. With designers like Denise Li leading the charge, St. Louis has declared itself a city to watch in the years ahead.
